A star in the tank ! My Cherry females all have good colour, but one of them has simply amazing colour.
Today she was out feeding, so I snapped a few shots of her.

As soon as I get a tank freed up, I'm moving her in and getting her breeding !
I have a couple more shots, but not as clear as the others.

Its dark wine colored - doesn't even look like the same species! Very pretty shade. Maybe you should try to breed it out as a color strain.

That's what I'm thinking, in a week or two I'm going to have a free tank. I'm going to move her and a male or two in to see if I can get a few more like her.
With any luck she'll produce some similar offspring.

Depends on the gene and who carries it, but its certainly worth a shot. If they're all from the same source, there's a chance that you'll hit the male that carries it anyway. She may be nearing the end of her lifespan, judging by the size and color density, so I'd do it asap.
Has she always been that color?
You should throw a pic of her up on the Shrimp boards. Maybe someone else has experimented with the color variation.

It is a beautiful shrimp and I agree with Melody, looks like a completely different species! Lucky you! good luck on the breeding :) It looks bigger than the rest of them
