Gmail Now Open 2 All

Not exactly big news, but it is one of the better free, web-based e-mails out there. You no longer need an invitation to have a Google Gmail account. They removed the invite requirement on Wednesday.

I doubt it will be much slower...its not like everyone didnt have one already who wanted one. Invites werent exactly rare. :smile:
I think my wife had 700 she hadnt gotten around to giving away cause everyone had one already.

That's the good thing about dealing with a big name - they can handle traffic, they can fix the bugs and they can offer features that the basic clients can't.

The invite thing was a marketing ploy during their beta launch more than anything, in my oppinion.
