"Does this photo make me look fat?" lol

No Dandee really isn't that fat, it was the angle of the photo. This is what she really looks like. She is a muscular horse and a little chunky but not like the photo above looks. lol

I just love to watch horses running around like that. They're having so much fun. It's amazing how your dog (Loki?) is so much a part of the group... they seem to accept him as if he is just another horse. And has Casper ever grown. He looks truly regal now (a fine young prince).
Thanks for sharing the video and pictures with us.

I love watching the horses run around as well.
Loki truly is one of a kind, and I swear he really believes that he is one of the horses.
He hangs out with the horses, they will come in from the pasture to get a drink, Loki is there in the middle of them drinking as well, they head back out to pasture, he goes with them. I feed them some oats, Loki is there eating the oats with them. He has even stood out there eating grass right along beside them. Loki, the miniature horse.
If you are interested, here is a video I made about Loki a year and a half ago.

And a couple of him playing with a horse we use to have . They were best buddies and played like this all the time.

Thanks.
I was the opposite. I grew up in the city (Lethbridge) but didn't belong there. As soon as I left home I moved into the country and I could never go back to city/town life.

I hear that Dandee.
I much prefer being out of the city. It was strange being in the country at first (being so quite at night), it was almost eerie in a way.
Great pics BTW, I'll have to check the vids out later. One of the few drawbacks of living where I do, is often having a lousy internet connection. Being in a low-lying, well treed and hilly area isn't the best for a wireless set-up.

Those are great videos. I think you're right. Loki thinks he's a horse. Mind you after seeing him with the cats, I think he just likes all creatures.
It was amazing to see that video of him with Cody. I have never seen a horse tug so gently... and Loki obviously didn't mind and even seemed to encourage more of it.

A very, very special puppy, isn't he? Thank you for the link to the videos - they are great!

Wait just a minute there... do you mean to suggest there are horses without police officers on their backs? Wow. This is a remarkable concept.
I have to get out of the city more often.

im surprised you haven't gone to the petting zoo close to your house gary? i swear they had a donkey and a horse... i have fond memories of going there as a kid (only 15 years ago, it just means the memories are sharper haha)
edit: did a quick google seach - i think its this one if i remember correctly "Ferme écologique du parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques"

Gary, you should check to see if there is still a riding stable on Cote Vertu (that's where I rode when I lived in Montreal)... if so, and you decide you'd like to ride, you won't be obliged to impersonate a police officer.

Don't get upset, Gary. It's better than the tights & cape I pictured you in before.

Ride a horse? You've got to be kidding. You mean, like, climb up on an itchy sweaty mammal and travel? I've sat on old horsehair sofas. And what would happen if that was the moment the farmer called them in to be milked, eh? It would throw me and gore me with its horns.
I'm too busy water-skiing with my trained porpoises.

 I really do think we need to get you out into the country a little more often Gary.
 Come September, I think you should take one of your classes on a horseback riding field trip (and familiarize yourself with these beautiful 4-legged creatures). As long as I'm not around to tell them otherwise, I'm sure they'll give you a gentle horse to ride.

In all seriousness, I remember a Grade two field trip. We were in the school bus, rolling through the countryside when Stephen, the class tough who had just moved out of a downtown neighbourhood, looked out at a herd of cows. His jaw dropped and he leaned close to the glass, peering intently.
Then he made himself a local legend by saying, with genuine amazement "What the ##### are those things?!?"
I have never ridden a horse, or interacted with one other than a passing hello, but I like the look of them. I'm amazed at how quickly that little guy has grown though.

Belmiro is gone  They arrived to pick him up around 6:00 pm. He walked right on the trailer without issue and was put into a box stall. A few minutes later the shipper went back into the trailer and Belmiro was loose.....he jumped over the top of the box stall (it was about 4 1/2 feet high) :wideeyed: He got him back in the stall but he didn't want to stay in there. He kept trying to jump out again. They ended up having to give him some drugs to calm him down so he wouldn't hurt himself. He really didn't want to leave the other horses. I hope he makes it to his new home safe and sound.

Bye little Belmiro. It is always hard letting them go when they have been sold.

It must be so hard to say goodbye. He's such a beauty. I envy his new owners. He's obviously well trained to just walk into the trailer with a stranger. You can't blame him for not wanting to leave once he realized that his buddies weren't coming.

I'm sure it's scary for them to be shipped. Now everytime I see a horse that looks like him, I'll wave, just in case.
