Here is a request for all members to include their location (city & prov/state). I think it's pretty cool to see where people are from!

That's an awesome idea if people are comfy with it :) . If they'd rather not be too specific, even the Province would be nice. Thanks for posting the suggestion!

It's a great idea, especially in the classifieds sections to make it easier for buying/selling purposes. Even if people were to just mention their province in their ad that right there would be helpful.

Is this something that could be suggested and maybe added as a sticky or to added to the posting rules in the classifieds section?

I would like it too, but making it mandatory might scare some people off. One guy I talked to about the forum said he wouldn't join because we asked for a birthdate in the registration...

I agree that it shouldn't be mandatory, but rather a suggestion as I know not everyone will want to publicly state their location and they shouldn't be made to do so. It would be a lot easier to know up front though in some cases, but I totally agree with ya on that.
The birthdate thingy kind of caught me a little off guard too and I wondered what the heck that's all about, but am thinking it might help to keep the spambots out if nothing else :) . I'm guessing it's probably just part of the program being used for the forum? Maybe Jay or Melody can answer that one as I know nothing about programming lol:no:

We have recently changed the registration message requesting date of birth to read:

'We have chosen to protect children with age restrictions. Please Enter Your Date of Birth:'

Also, if anyone mentions any concerns about having to enter their age to register, direct them to the FAQ. Under Registration Questions, it states that their date of birth is not retained anywhere, if they they choose to delete it in their User Profile once they have registered.
