Well I've finally put Halloween 2006 to bed. It was a good night, 117 goblins at my door. I love it all - they look so excited and are having so much fun. There is nothing like a child's giggling to make the heart smile, which is probably why I open the door and exclaim "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!', just to make them laugh and correct me. I tell them that the time change has really thrown me this year ;) .
Some older boys got me this year though - I was sitting here when I heard caroling...ROFL... opened the door and there they were, singing a Christmas song at the top of their lungs. Guess my joke is getting old.:Embarassing:
The older kids were awesome too - never have a problem there. Polite and trying to look cool, yet not quite willing to give up the 'festivities' yet. The little ones are a joy, especially the toddlers. The first little one who came to the door pointed to my ghost decoration and informed me that it was a "Dost". I never knew that, so I learned something new  . When I confessed my ignorance of that fact, he nodded wisely and assured me that it was. Tooooo cute.
Then I had one with his Father, who was also dressed up as a Jeckyll & Hyde type character. He opened his doctor bag and grunted that he wanted candy. His Son kept saying "Don't give him any!" But I did - told the child that I was afraid he'd bite me if I didn't.
Then there was a kid who carefully examined the bag that I gave him and asked what was in there. I told him it was broccoli and carrots.
I have bottles of desert baby food for the infants, much to their candy-grubbing parents' dismay...lol.
There wasn't much for fireworks this year so the cat didn't lose its fur. All in all, a great Halloween.
How did everyone else's go? Do anything fun? Anybody see a mermaid?
