View Full Version : Christmas Fish Wish List

CACAdmin

It's now exactly 3 weeks until Christmas. People are beginning to do their Christmas shopping (or so it would seem by the number of people getting on the bus in front of the mall with multiple bags). Question is, do you often get fish-related stuff for gifts? If not do you figure it's because people have no idea what you would want or could use? Have you ever provided family or friends with a Christmas Fish Wish List?

 It was purely innocent, honest:Angel: I am old enough to be the mother of some of the younger ones around here. I could have wished for an older good lucking man to clean my tanks, but hubby won't clean them. Build a stand or do wiring for them, but cleaning them is out of the question.

Age doesn't matter when you have dazzling eyes and warm and inviting lips! Oh boy, that was just too funny!
I would like an extra 6' on my fishroom with another twenty 5 to 15 gallon aquariums for killies!

I think that's pretty nice that he's supportive of your hobby and willing to give you a hand (even if it's not with tank cleaning).

I think Pamelajo has the right idea- services over goods any day. Attractive or homely, male/ female / or other, if they're willing to clean the prefilters once a week I would be a very happy man.

As for gifts and wish lists at Christmas, our odd little clan decided back in the early '80s to skip the winter gift giving tradition. We have the usual holiday dinners and get-togethers, eat too much, tease each other like grade schoolers. But gift giving is now something that happens randomly throughout the year.

Thanks for the morning chuckle Pamelajo:Smile:.
For the list I've got my heart set on a handful of Adolfoi corydora and another mitt full
of Celestial Pearl Danios. Hoping they'll be in today or tomorrow. :SoExcited:
The :ChargeIt:is going to be smokin.

I asked for tank decorations once and ended up with a really ugly, fake, pink coral thing... I wont ask again!

I do get filters sometimes, which is nice.

LOL! You guys crack me up! This has been a pretty entertaining thread.

My brotheer once bought me a royal pleco for Christmas.

This year, what I want is that nice 125 gal tank I saw at Aquarium Services and the stand and canopy too. Oh and not fish related but I want another newfie pup.

For Christmas, I want someone to come and wash the gravel for the last four tanks I have to set up, and finish building/painting/staining my multiple tank stand. Work on it has pretty much stopped since I added fish tanks on it. It would be an espcially good chrismtas present if I was allowed to just sit and supervise while playing games on my laptop. One of these days, when I grow old and successful, maybe my dream will come true. For now though, looks like I'll have to wait till spring and my garage warms up, its much to cold at the moment to get anything done in there, and I'm to cheap to pay to heat it up.

That is a guy thing... we keep everything and I am sure that if mrs pyro threw anything away, I wouldn't have a clue until I needed it and then I would think that I might have thrown it away. I wish she would throw my stuff away!

Storage areas has been a discussion topic at our house more than once. Hubby has a 3 car garage, and two sheds and one is a two storey and I have some shelving in the basement, and he keeps telling me I have too much stuff!!:swoon:

I will admit that it pains me to throw anything out. However when I really think about it, I wonder why I am keeping so much junk (cause I might need it tomorrow is always my thought). Every once in a while, I have a really good purge.... I really wish I didn't have so much clutter.

A nice school of corys! Which cory are they and where did you get them?

CACAdmin
Dec 9th 2010, 07:42 AM
sass and Melody, I think you have the right idea... buy your own "fish-y" Xmas presents. (People are never sure what to get anyways). That's where gift certificates for a fishstore are a good choice for family members buying you something for the hobby (hint, hint... )

pyro........I got them at La Niche in Quebec.
The corys are Adolfoi.
They were a special order, I've been hunting them down for almost 2 years.
If you are ever up in this neck of the woods be sure to make this lfs a stop
on your list of to do. I can't say enough good things about this store.
Anyway as they say in the reptile community this cory was a lifer for me.

I saw some today at Big Al's in Scarborough (Toronto). They were three for $26.99. I was tempted but they were small and didn't look too healthy so I passed. I get to Montreal on business a couple times a year so I'll keep it in mind.
