Picked up our newest family member this morning. Went and looked at him a couple days ago. He does not have a name yet, I like to get to know a horse's personality as then a name that suits them usually comes along.

He is an 8 month old Arabian colt. He got to visit over the fence with Casper for awhile and then I put them out together as they were getting along great over the fence. He met with Loki's approval as well (the dog)

This colt and Casper are 10 days apart in age but the colt is quite a bit bigger. These next two photos are horrible shots, but they show the difference in size.

The new colt is a beauty. The contrast on the color of him and Casper makes for pretty picutres. I wonder what Casper thinks of having someone his age hanging around. I guess time will tell when they're each vying for your attention.

I love the long shaggy coats they get in winter to keep them warm. Too bad you couldn't grow one of those to keep you warm.

Thanks everyone! This colt hasn't had much work done with him but he is coming around quickly. He is already coming right up to me when I go out there and responding to me.

I got these photos later on Sunday. Thought it was hilarious! Loki always has to be the center of attention.

Casper and the colt were eating some hay

Loki walks over

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/dandeedun/Horses/DSCN3372-1.jpg

And lays down on their hay

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/dandeedun/Horses/DSCN3374.jpg

Seems quite comfortable

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/dandeedun/Horses/DSCN3378.jpg

And then gets even more comfortable

Heaven forbid if the horses should get some attention and he doesn't.

Then I look over to one of the other piles of hay (I put hay out into several piles rather than one large pile) and it looks like Nemo has made himself comfortable. Marlin probably would have been up there too if there was more room

That's priceless, Dandee. What surprises me is that Casper and the new colt seem to just accept it. As for Marlin, he looks like he's saying, "Hey, where's my pil of hay?"

what fun! great shots, again. I think a week at your place would be the perfect place to rest and recharge, even if it does involve a little heavy lifting:-)

I'm in an updating mood today.

Thought I would update on Teebo as well. My son took some new photos of him today. He is going to be a huge horse. He is only a year old but is already as tall as my 11 yr old mare.

This isn't a good photo, it is just to show his size. I am 5'4

He is turning out to be a wonderful horse.

He's a big boy for sure. It's great to see all that sunshine and greenery, too, after the first pics in the snow.
