Wow! That's a humongous squid. Not something I'd like to encounter in the ocean!

One tends to wonder with all the creatures coming up lately from the depths they normally reside at, if there is something happening way down deep in the oceans. And, if so, is it natural or have we caused it? Something to ponder.

That thing could give a person nightmares :wideeyed: .

Certainly seems like something is up, doesn't it....

There's enough commerical fishing licenses issued on the West Coast to decimate fish stocks many times over. Fishing techniques such as huge drift nets and trawling that hugs the bottom of the seabed and who knows...even global warming could be motivating these deep sea creatures out of their normal habitat.

Some of the most freightening animals are found in abyssal waters, like those hatchet fish. I wonder what else is downthere. Certainly very interesting! Makes me feel like eating calamari though lol haha.

Sounds good to me. Looks like Fugu has volunteered to go first and take on any dangerous predators like the Colossal Squid.:wideeyed:

I'm not sure how much bottled courage it would take to do that, but we're not footing the booze bill....lol.

<Note to CACAdmin: Don't forget to have divers sign waivers.>

Absolutely! Also, maybe I should make one of the prerequisites of the dive to be that everyone has to name me as a beneficiary on their life insurance policy.

Further on this story, it appears to have been caught on tape and now there's bidding wars for it  :
