question about sword behavior

Hey guys / gals

Someone mentioned the other day that females prefer reds over other colours. Does that hold true for males as well? If you recall I found a beautiful (that's an understatement) albino female sword with slightly orange fins. I loved her colour so I snapped her up. My red male is "guarding" the two red females from this new one and has started "ramming" her as hard as he can. She spends a lot of time alone. Can anyone explain this??

Sounds like the white might be a late blooming male.:wideeyed: But no, a male's criteria is that she be female....lol. The reason that female preference is studied is because its up to her which male she mates with, limited only by the choices she's given.
