GuppyCon 2011 - Boston
GuppyCon 2011. The World-wide Guppy Conference will take place in Boston, MA October 13th - 16th, 2011. The four day conference is a joint effort between the IGEES (International Guppy Education & Exhibition Society), the World Guppy Association, the Boston Guppy Club, and the Boston Aquarium Society. Special events include a New England whale watch, behind the scenes tours of the New England Aquarium, an IMAX movie presentation in the New England Aquarium theater, and a tour of the city of Boston by Boston Duck Tours. There will be several workshops and speakers, including a presentation by Philip Shaddock author of the "Theory and Practice of Guppy Breeding" and "The Library of Guppy Color Strains, Their History and Genetics". There will also be a vendor room in the hotel and a dedicated block of rooms for "in-room sales". The event will also include the World Guppy Association's "15th World Guppy Championship" and an "IGEES Guppy Innovation Contest" featuring guppies from breeders around the world. The judging panel includes famous breeders Andrew Lim of Malaysia and Oemer Gulmez of Germany. The final day of the conference will feature the Boston Aquarium Society Annual Auction which will be open to the public. Further details will be released shortly when the event website is launched.
